Here at Huey's Taxidermy, Michael Huey, a licensed taxidermist by the State & Federal Fish
and Wildlife, performs all work. We pride ourselves in knowing that we only use the best
materials, tanners, techniques, and technology available. We can give you what you expect
and deserve from a taxidermist. We are a small taxidermy studio, which believes that quality
is #1, not quantity. Turn around time is in 8 to 12 months. I run the business with part-time
hours as I do have full-time job working somewhere else, however I spend full-time hours
working on customers mounts so that they are done professionally and timely.
Our mounts have a life-like look.
- Full sinus cavities, no more closed off nostrils, it looks like it is still breathing.
- Full inner butts, no more cut off or clay filled butts.
- We have all hides professionally tanned, this makes them longer lasting and less prone
to host bugs that can destroy your mount.
- We use the strongest hide pastes and glues in the industry, that gives you a mount that
will not drum, crack, and keeps the tucked areas from pulling out around the mouth,
nose, and eyes.
- We use mostly McKenzie forms, we found that over the years they have the look you
want and are anatomically correct and life-like.
- Attention to detail, 8 years of studying animal behavior, bone and muscle structure to get
your mounts anatomically correct.
- We are not a commercial taxidermist, but a personal taxidermist. We will work hard on
preserving your hunting and outdoor experience.
